Pittsburgh PA’s Nick Catanese -aka “The Evil Twin” is technically the second member of Black Label Society, after founder Zakk Wylde. It was Catanese who originally had the balls to seek Wylde out and ask to join forces with him back in the mid 90′s.

That connection resulted in Catanese treading some miles under his feet as the second guitarist on Wylde’s tour supporting his solo opus “Book Of Shadows.”  Then, shortly thereafter in 1998, Wylde hit upon the idea of creating the Black Label Society brotherhood, and it wasn’t long before he then approached Catanese with the idea to form the nucleus of the band.

Soon after, they were joined by Phil Ondich on drums and retreated to record their debut “Sonic Brew.”  After the studio sessions, John JD DeServio was recruited to play bass, and the band was then set to make history.

Outside of BLS, Catanese’s side project Speed X, recently released it’s first album titled “Flat Black” and is touring in between his commitments with Black Label Society.  If it’s a  between October and June, you can also bet Catanese is in his Affliction tee watching some Penguins hockey.
